After eleven months of lockdown feeling like the new normal, it’s still hard to believe that we managed to make two whole series of Staged totally remotely on zoom.

It was a complete joy to score Series 2, with a brilliant list of guest stars including Michael Palin, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Cate Blanchet, Christoph Waltz, Whoopi Goldberg… amongst many others.. alongside David Tennant and Michael Sheen. Written by (and also co-staring) the brilliant Simon Evans, Series 1 managed to make multiple lists of best TV shows of 2020 on both sides of the Atlantic, with Series 2 seemingly going down just as well as Series 1.

A DVD release is scheduled for Amazon next month in the UK, here.

Unlike Series 1, I haven’t released the soundtrack digitally – but we’re hoping to release something a bit more special later in the year. So watch this space.

In the meantime, I’ve released the theme from the show as a musical score for people to learn to play (I’ve never been asked so much for one of my scores) which I’ve made available to download for free on this dropbox link here.

The international release should be coming very soon. Eagle eyed views of the DVD box will notice they are “extended episodes”… which means an extra 10 minutes of music across the 8 episodes on those versions too (including some of my favourite bits which were cut in the BBC version!)
